Lene Pelayo, Belizean Model
“Hi everyone, as you guys knows I am Lene Pelayo straight out of Belize/Roaring Creek. So, when I first got the news, I didn’t realize that it was the cover. I thought that it was spreading inside the magazine, which I have been a fan of for many years. When I got an email from my agent it was a mockup of what the over would look like. I was shocked. I was driving and I am sure everybody on the road thought I was crazy because I was slamming my hands on the steering wheel and screaming and like God you are so good to me. It was a moment of like total shock. I still feel to this day that it hasn’t sat in as yet. It is still sitting in that this is really happening and the amazing opportunity to grace the cover as the first plus size Belizean model on the cover is truly amazing. There is no limits to what you can do as a woman, even men, embrace who you are. It shows that she is all about body positivity and loving yourself and just being you and not have to mold to the stereotypes in what the world says beauty is today. Beauty is really what you want beauty to be. There is no, there should be no title under beauty.”
