CitCo Weighs In on Proposed Waterloo Development
Deputy Mayor Allan Pollard Junior, who is presently standing in for Mayor Bernard Wagner, has also weighed in on the matter from the perspective of the Belize City Council. While the proposed Waterloo development will take place on the south side of Belize City, particularly in the Port Loyola constituency, it is CitCo’s belief that it should also have a say in the decision-making process. The matter, nonetheless, has not been raised in caucus.
Allan Pollard Jr., Deputy Mayor, Belize City
“So far, I must say that that hasn’t been an agenda item, so as a collective there hasn’t been a fixed position by the council at this time. I know, I think it was a year or two ago, Waterloo did do a presentation at the Belize City Council, but as far as having something on the agenda, that hasn’t happened as yet.”

“Should the council discuss it, in your opinion, given that I think B.W.S.L. says that if the project goes forward there may be issues with our water system?”
Allan Pollard Jr.
“Yeah, I think the council should have a say in any project that happens within Belize City, whether it affects us, whether it benefits us, the council should have a say in that.”
