Ten Soldiers Receiving Treatment for Varying Degrees of Injuries

Of the ten surviving soldiers, three have been treated and released from the Western Regional Hospital. Five of them remain hospitalized with varying degrees of injuries. Two others, namely privates Daron Flowers and Cory Martells, were rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital with more serious injuries to the spine and femur. Lieutenant Colonel Burns tells us more.

“The dead of private Goff was on sight. The remainder of passengers sustained injuries ranging from multiple lacerations, body aches and a few breaks and tears, nuh. The entire passenger list was taken to hospital that is the Western Regional in Belmopan, where five currently remains. Two has been moved to Karl Heusner for more serious injuries. Those are a suspected spinal injury for one soldier and the other is a suspected break for the femur and not until the MRI and Scans are done will we be able to confirm that those will be remedied by surgery. But, from what I got from the doctor just before coming here, those two people are already at the K.H.M.H. They are undergoing a second set of scans and the specialist there will be able to give us an update. We have one of our duty doctors down there and she has been up with them since last evening. We also have a liaison in Belmopan who is looking to the welfare of those soldiers who remain there, the five. From what I am told some will be released into our care, our hospital facility here, and we are arranging our ambulances to pick them up so they can recover at our hospital.”
