Lt. Col. Jermaine Burns, Chief of Staff, B.D.F.
“She was a part of that recruit training. She was a part of those investigations. So, beyond that, and post her death, I inquired about whether the force knew about something or so, or some case that occurred with her. From what I have gathered is that, and I am only saying this preliminarily, not to go against what the investigators are starting to say or staring to look at, that she was in fact seeking the counselor and the Counseling Unit, and members of the Welfare Wellness Unit of the B.D.F. So, she was in the program. For what exact reasons, I was told the investigators will know the full details of it. I hope that as soon as the investigation is completed this is disclosed to me and we can share it to the media. But, it has not been disclosed to me and so I don’t want to make any kind of speculations of so. For all the pressing I have been doing to the force’s counselor to try and give me more information, she sites confidentiality. So, I told her that she will have to eventually give up the information to the investigators. If it is that in fact Micah was assaulted in anyway shape or form, those persons that are implicated from within the force would definitely be disciplined. It would look at something in the line of discharge and then a criminal case would be brought against them. And we will target whatever name comes up. We will start targeting these culprits, because they are staining the name of the organization, they are rotting the core of what we stand for.”
