Tracey Betancourt is Wanted By Police Following Bench Warrant

Tracey Betancourt

After four months of trial, the case against two Belizean residents,  twenty-five-year-old Tracey Betancourt, a resident of Barrier Reef Drive, San Pedro and Amara Street resident, and thirty-eight-year-old Leon Walford, concluded today  with a guilty verdict against Walford. That’s because the first defendant, Tracey Betancourt, was a no-show in court today for her murder verdict.  It’s an unusual occurrence, a defendant not showing up, but a bench warrant has been issued for Betancourt by Justice Sandcroft.  But the Supreme Court judge continued with the ruling and found Walford guilty of  the murder of American businessman, forty-nine-year-old, Lamont Edward  Lipka,  a U.S. national  from Texas who was living in San  Pedro and was the Manager of Tropicana Restaurant and Bar located on Coconut Drive.  Betancourt, who is wanted by police, is out on fifty thousand dollars Supreme Court bail.
