A Couple Injured During Early Morning Shooting in Bainsville

Rasheed Maskall

Twenty-two-year-old Rasheed Maskall and his girlfriend are the victims of an armed assault at their home in the Bainsville community of Hattieville.  The couple was in bed when a volley of gunshots disturbed their slumber.  Shortly after the shooting, Latifah Ferguson and her boyfriend realized that they were both injured. According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Fitzroy Yearwood, a motive for the attack is yet to be determined.

“Sometime around 5:15 a.m., police were called to a residence near mile seventeen and a half, in the Bainsville area of Hattieville where they were informed that one Rasheed Maskall, a twenty-two-year-old male and Latifah Ferguson received gunshot injuries.  We know that they were at their home sometime around 5:10 a.m. when they heard a barrage of bullets and realized that they were injured.  Mr. Maskall was transported to the K.H.M.H. via private vehicle.  Ms. Ferguson who got a shot to her right leg also was transported to the K.H.M.H. where they are being treated for their injuries.”

“Sir, any motive for this shooting?”

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood

“None as yet, but we know that the investigators are following up on some leads that they’ve gleaned through interviews they got from the victims.  So hopefully we could get to the bottom of this rather sooner than later.”
