Dr Musa: Even With Vaccine-resistant Variant Spreading, People Should Be Vaccinated
While the new vaccine-resistant Omicron variant is spreading in this region, medical professionals still advise people to go and get vaccinated. Today, the Director of Public Health and Wellness, Doctor Melissa Diaz-Musa explained why it is important for people to still get their shots.

“The literature is saying that three to four times there’s the evasion of the neutralizing antibodies. That’s the first defense that your body puts out, but you still have defense at that level and of course, you have the cellular defense from both persons being infected and persons being vaccinated. So you do have significant antibody response at other levels in your system. So we have to continue to encourage vaccinations and we do know that the COVID-19 vaccines have worked and it has really helped to save many lives.”
