Armed Robbery at Puma Gas Station

There was an armed robbery at the Puma Gas Station on Thursday night in Belize City. It happened at the service station located at the corner of Faber’s Road and the George Price Highway.  According to attendants, three gunmen came up just before closing time and relieved an employee of an undisclosed amount of cash and electronic items, before escaping in a getaway car, which was later discovered abandoned. News Five’s Duane Moody reports.

It was business as normal today at the Puma Gas Station at the corner of Faber’s Road and the George Price Highway. But on Thursday night, as the workday was winding down, a trio of armed men targeted the business.  While one stood watch outside, two entered the office and robbed the establishment of an undisclosed amount of money.

By the time, this attendant got back to the gas station, the armed robbers had escaped in a getaway car, heading on the highway into the city. Police investigators and scenes of crime personnel got to the station and began processing the scene. But something strange happened while the getaway car sped off – the loot was flung from the vehicle near a mechanic shop a short distance from the gas station.
