Man Found Guilty of Uncle’s Murder; His Friend Is Also Convicted

A man was found guilty this afternoon of the murder of his uncle, and he will be sentenced later this month along with a friend who was also convicted of the same crime. Nineteen-year-old Raheem Budran and twenty-one-year-old Kareem Eaghan, Junior, were both found guilty today of the murder of forty-three-year-old Shane Budran. The incident occurred on the night of February twenty-first, 2020, on Wagner’s Lane, also known as Jump Street. Justice Ricardo O’Neil Sandcroft, who tried the case without a jury, handed down his ruling, in which he explained that the burden of proof, beyond a reasonable doubt, lies on the Crown. The judge concluded that identification was not an issue for the Crown’s main witnesses, since they knew the suspects well. He also found that another of the Crown’s witnesses, who had identified Raheem Budran at the crime scene, was credible. Furthermore, the judge said he didn’t believe Budran’s claim that he was never at the scene of the murder. The Crown’s main witness testified that on the night of the murder, she was sitting inside her house when she heard Raheem Budran and his uncle arguing. During that time, she said that she also heard Raheem threaten his uncle. The two men will be sentenced on July twenty-ninth. Justice Sancroft has ordered for a social Inquiry and a psychiatric evaluation to be done on both men prior to sentencing. The prosecutor in the case was, Riis Cattouse.
