Public Servants Learn Emotional Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the ability to identify and regulate one’s emotions and understand the emotions of other. A growing number of work places are recognizing the importance of emotional intelligence in effective communication. With this in mind, the Ministry of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform and Religious Affairs, commenced a two-day Emotional Intelligence Seminar. The training is being facilitated by Jeanne Cattouse of Loving is Key Corporate Trainings and Doctor Catrena Elliot, author of “I Love Me, Intentionally: 10 Transformation Principles to Loving You First”. We heard from Jeanne Cattouse, courtesy the Government of Belize’s Press Office.

“For the next couple of days, we will do two days in conference where we are going to zero in on emotional intelligence which talks about self awareness, relationship management, especially with the government which is a very good thing. We start f4rom the top and have that disperse out to all the public officers. Then, on the third day we are going to do an even more practical experience where we are going to do to a retreat where we go in and to the meditation, the mind directions, so that each public officer can have the ability to take care of themselves. When we are working, a lot of times we are doing our work but we forget we must breath. So, we are going to teach breathing techniques, mind direction and again with lving is key we are all about loving ourselves. We know that we should love the world and love, love, love, but we never know how to love ourselves. So, at Loving is Key we are sharing how we can love ourselves so that we can have our tanks filled so that when we are dealing with people that love is just transferring.”
