Eighty-year-old Santa Chun was knocked down as she walked on the Valley of Peace Road in the Cayo District on Friday night. “Jesus Felipe Galdamez, a forty-three-year-old vendor said that sometime around seven-twenty p.m., he was driving his pick-up truck from the direction of Valley of Peace to Belmopan when he suddenly saw a female walking on the side of the highway. He tried to avoid hitting her but he said that to no avail. He then stopped and transported her to the Western Regional Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries sometime after eleven on the first of July. He has since been charged with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, and driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention.”
