One Suspect is Being Sought in Murder of Jordan Bradley

Twenty-six-year-old Jordan Bradley, a resident of 4th Street in King’s Park, lost his life in a drive-by shooting on Wednesday evening.  He was at a yard on 11th Street when a pair of gunmen alighted a Dodge Caravan and let loose a hail of bullets at several persons who were gathered at that location. Bradley was mortally wounded and expired at the scene of the shooting. While the incident appears to be reprisal for the weekend murder of Jeffrey Buller, Assistant Superintendent Fitzroy Yearwood told the media this afternoon that investigators are yet to determine a motive for the deadly assault.

“At around 6:20 p.m., police were called out to a scene at #9 11th Street in King’s Park, Belize City where they saw the motionless body of Jordan Bradley, twenty-six years old, lying on the ground.  Initial investigation revealed that Bradley was playing checkers with some other friends at that location when a white Dodge Caravan approached them from the direction of I Street into 11th Street.  The van apparently went around the block and upon returning, two men exited the van and opened fire in Bradley and the other occupants in that yard direction, fatally injuring Bradley.  We have a person of interest that we are searching for.  Investigators have sent to my office information of this person. Mr. Bradley lost his life due to the location that he was at that time. Whether or not the other persons that were playing checkers with him were the intended target, that would be determined after our investigators have established motive.

“Looking at the angle that this might be related to the other murder that happened in King’s Park on 6th Street.”

Fitzroy Yearwood

“I cannot say definitely that we’re not looking at it but we are examining several angles and we hope that this person that we are looking for could bring some form of closure to this investigation and we are very hopeful to find this person still.  I believe that this person is still in Belize.  I will have to get some form of clearance as to whether or not I could put out this person’s name before I do so.”
