ComPol Responds to OJ Elrington in Trapp vs. Espat

Last week, we showed you the lawyer letters that were sent out in the aftermath of a hotly contested village council election in Teakettle. During the process, Woman Police Constable Alicia Trapp got into a verbal exchange with Cayo South Area Representative Julius Espat outside of the venue. Both of them had their attorneys write the other and a complaint against Espat was filed by W.P.C. Trapp.  In responding to a letter that was forwarded to Commissioner of Police, ComPol Chester Williams pointed out that contrary to Trapp’s claims, there was no physical contact on the part of the Minister of Infrastructure Development and Housing.  In fact, Commissioner Williams tells attorney Orson Elrington, ”there is no iota of evidence to suggest that your client was assaulted by Honorable Espat.  It is therefore clear that the only assault committed was upon Honorable Espat by your client. Thus, your client is to be arrested and charged for the crime of Common Assault committed upon Honorable Espat”
