PSU President: PM’s Comments about Crown Counsels in A.G Ministry were Disrespectful

Earlier in the news, we heard from P.S.U. President Dean Flowers, who chided the government for hiring former P.U.P. Minister, Florencio Marin Senior. But that was only one issue that the P.S.U. President had with government. Flowers also took aim at Prime Minister John Briceño for recent comments he made about the qualification and experience of young Crown Counsels at the Attorney General’s Ministry to take on highly technical cases. In his words, Flowers says the P.M. was plain and simple, disrespectful.

Dean Flowers, President, P.S.U.

“The comments of the Prime Minister claiming that the legal counsels are no good is again outright disrespectful and again unbecoming of the Prime Minister. To see this supported by the Hon Musa yesterday, calling them junior attorneys and discrediting the fact that a lot of them have been doing research work at the AG Ministry for some time is also very unfortunate. Successive administrations continue to keep them locked away from the court room to justify the hiring of their political law firms. We saw it under the Barrow administration. That was horrible, the millions of dollars that he paid out to law firms that he was close to, and we’re seeing it under this administration, and there is no justifiable reason for itower.”
