Lannate Antidote Available at Health Facility
Ochaeta-Serrut says that since the Pesticide Control Board was formed back in 1988, there have been several incidents of children ingesting pesticide, which she says is totally inexcusable. She explains the possible effects of the poison and says that there is an antidote in the public health system.

“How that affects people? Just like another group called organophosphates, so organophosphates and carbamates, they are cholinesterase inhibitors so those are the symptoms that the medical team at K.H.M.H. will be managing at this time with the child and we really hope for a good outcome of this case.
because it is a cholinesterase inhibitor, some of the adverse effects would be nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, muscle cramps, fatigue, insomnia, dizziness, headache. So cholinesterase inhibitors lead to increase communication between nerve cells so that’s the reason why you see that activity like when you spray an insect with one of these pesticides from this class. Thankfully, for this class of pesticide there is an antidote, so they will be administering atropine.”
