The entire process, including the counting of ballots, will be overseen by public officers assigned to the elections. The casting of ballots, according to Tamai, has been scheduled for specific times throughout the course of the day.

“Similar to other elections, the Elections and Boundaries Commission appoints election clerks and election officers and those persons are public officers. So those are the persons who conduct the elections and those are the persons who will be counting the ballot papers immediately after the polls close. So I want to get into the time now, one for nomination.  Nomination in all villages and communities are from nine a.m. to midday. When it comes to the voting, voting starts at nine a.m. There are various closing times for these villages, there are some that close at one [p.m.], others at three [p.m.] and others at five [p.m.] and that is determined based on the size and number of electors in those villages or communities. So again, the information that we publish, because it’s different for different villages and communities. Also, when persons go to the centers they will see the notices to indicate what time elections conclude. In all villages and communities, we have also placed notices in those villages and communities. We are doing radio announcements as well, so that the public is informed of these dates and times. So I want to encourage villagers to listen to those and pay attention to the information that we have out there so you know exactly what date and time you all will be having nominations and elections.”
