Belize City residents have been adapting to the parking meters pilot project, says Mayor Bernard Wagner. These meters, located on Albert Street and the Digi Park, have been installed for approximately six weeks. We asked Mayor Wagner for an update on the project.

“Parking meters again, you have to understand, this pilot project is not geared at revenue generation. It was geared at getting the necessary data, so that when we do roll it out in its full effect that we have the data and have cleared out certain glitches. But certainly, the parking meters in the Albert Street Area and the DIGI Park area have been working effectively. We have people adapting to it. You have this adaptation period, whenever something comes new and changes occur it takes a while for people o change and shift minds. So, we have sent the gradual adaptation to it, and we are encouraged by what we are seeing.”
