Wilmer Escobar Sentenced to Two Life Terms in Prison
A man, who was convicted in March of the double murder of two sisters, has been condemned to two life sentences at the Belize Central Prison. This morning, Justice Antoinette Moore sentenced Wilmer Escobar in the southern district session of the Supreme Court for the double murder of sisters, twenty-year-old Cresencia and eighteen-year-old Josephine Oh. The siblings, who were chopped to death, were found on a road in San Antonio Village, Toledo District in January 2018. Escobar’s sentences will run concurrently and he will have eligibility for parole after thirty-five years. Since he has already served four years and four months on remand, that time will be taken into account when the time comes around for him to apply for parole.
