C.B.D. Hold Fifty Second Annual Meeting in Turks and Caicos
The Turks and Caicos Islands are hosting the Fifty-Second Annual Meeting of the Caribbean Development Bank, of which Belize is a borrowing member. The meeting is described as the single most important meeting in the bank’s annual agenda. This is where members of the board of governors convene to chart the future of the bank as well as to receive updates on critical operational development. This year’s meeting is being held under the theme, “Measuring Better to Target Better, Adaptation and Resilience”. Charles Misick, the Premier of Turks and Caicos, and the Chairman of the Board of Governors opened the meeting at today’s ceremony.

“This meeting and similar undertakings of this nature are beneficial to both the region and Turks and Caicos. It is beneficial, because it sustains the partnership as we work towards the sustainable goals of the United Nations, and more importantly, to decrease our vulnerabilities and build resilience, very important aspects and targets of our relationship. The time and circumstances, in my view, Mr. President, are appropriate for effecting the policies and the strategies for the change we all envision. And so, we must embrace each opportunity, and this one I embrace to deepen our CARICOM relationship. This meeting and the related dialogue has the potential to shape the society and create the future that all our citizens deserve.”
