Search for Missing Emir Cansino Jr. Continues

The search for missing twenty-year-old Emir Cansino Jr. continues. After he disappeared on Monday morning, following a night out in Belize City, his father, Emir Cansino Sr., has been restless in his attempt to find him. A search in an area off the John Smith Road on Tuesday, based on a tip, yielded nothing. Today, we caught up with Cansino Sr. and Jose Espat, who is also a childhood friend of his to get an update on their investigation and plans moving forward.

“I had no idea of what was happening until a flyer with his son’s picture was sent to me. A lot of people were messaging me. I contacted a couple of his family members. When I contacted him he started to give me as much information as he had. I said ok well I am definitely going to help you with this. I started to reach out to certain contacts. I have contacts in all walks of life and as we all know the streets talk more than any police investigation could ever carry out. At this point we have enough information as to have an idea as to what transpired. We also have an idea as to some of the players that may be involved. We just came out of a meeting a short while ago and we have a plan, and due to keeping the integrity of the investigation and not allowing to have a reoccurrence of what happened in the past, we will not disclose locations at this point. We do have a tentative search for tomorrow at a specific location.”

“First we get information. Up to now we the get different scenario with the story. We are hoping that what we are getting now is probably what will turn out to be the better information. Lot of people that knew him sending us messages and everybody didn’t know him as a trouble maker. Even one of my friends told me that they check the station and don’t even have a report with his name. So, he was not a problem child. It’s just the friends he hung with was the problem, deh dah bad people. But, at the end of the day we can’t pick and chose to say who want heng with who. Everybody wants to be their own person.”
