Official Report: Gunman Wanted Security Guard’s Gun in Cayo
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood also officially commented on the murder of security guard David Gonzalez, who was killed while on duty in front of Super Q Mart on the Bullet Tree Road in San Ignacio, Cayo last Thursday. The murder was caught on surveillance camera as a gunman, whom Gonzalez seemingly knew, approached and killed the security guard in order to steal his weapon.

“Our initial investigation revealed that David Gonzalez, twenty-seven-year-old security guard was approached by a single male, armed with a firearm. This male person made an attempt to relieve Gonzalez of his firearm that belonged to the security company that he was employed with. Gonzalez refused to hand over that firearm and while he was retreating from that person, that person fired on him fatally injuring him. We are asking for the assistance of the public, we have sent out a few still shots from a video is trying to identify the assailant in this murder.”
Gonzalez was employed with Anchor Security.
