P.S.U. Points Out Where Government Went Wrong with Chi

Calbert Barber

According to Industry Relations Officer, Calbert Barber, there were multiple missteps on the part of the prime minister and the resulting action that was taken to place the public officer on administrative leave.

Calbert Barber, Industry Relations Officer, P.S.U.

“There were so many things that they did wrong. The words of the prime minister when he said he would contact the prime minister to deal with this, essentially is saying that I’m going to punish you. That’s trying to put fear in the public officers.  Further to that, this letter that prompted Mr. Chi to come to us was, if you read it, based on the letter itself, it was a punitive measure instead of an investigative measure and you only could put a public officer on administrative leave for the purpose of an investigation.  Now this matter is a minor misconduct within our regulations.”

Marleni Cuellar

“So let’s stop there. Two things that you’re saying. One: that administrative leave can be used but for a specific function. Let’s go back to what you were saying here, that it is in fact misconduct. Under what grounds?”

Calbert Barber

“I am not saying that he committed a misconduct. What they are accusing him off is only a minor misconduct.”
