Jungle Survival Skills Training for the Royal Couple

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the British Army Training and Support Unit Belize (BATSUB) on the final day of their Belize tour. There at the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy Site in the Chiquibul National Park, Prince William and Kate unveiled a plaque to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. The visit was a return for Prince Williams who had spent time with a special unit in the year 2000. The survival skills Prince Williams learned back then were put to the test through various jungle survival demonstrations. The survival techniques displayed during the visit were those that are taught to British soldiers who spent time in Belize’s jungle as a part of their training. Before leaving, the Duke and Duchess were also able to learn about the cooperation between the British Army and various conservation groups like the Friends for Conservation and Development, headed by Executive Director Raphael Manzanero. That visit lasted approximately one hour and a half.
