ASP Fitzroy Yearwood

Twenty-six-year-old Gilroy Thomas and twenty-four-year-old Tyrique Swaso have been arrested and charged for the weekend murder of Emroy Tracey. Tracey was fatally stabbed during an altercation near the corners of Curassow and Iguana streets in Belize City on Saturday. During the scuffle, a knife was produced by one of the men who proceeded to stab Tracey multiple times.

“On Saturday, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial [Hospital] where they found the lifeless body of Emroy Tracey, twenty-three years [old]. Initial investigation revealed that Tracey was at the corner of Curassow and Iguana streets when he got into an altercation with two other men and one of them took out a knife and inflicted the fatal injuries to him. We know that police have two persons detained and hopefully we would be able to have charges very soon against them.”
