Western Union theft suspect turns himself in

In other police news, the Criminal Investigations Branch has reported that on Wednesday, Hector Castellanos, a former employee of the Western Union branch at Belinsco turned himself in to police. Castellanos was wanted for the alleged embezzlement of over nineteen thousand dollars in April. Shortly after the incident is reported to have taken place, Castellanos left for Honduras. According to C.I.B., Castellanos told them that he was not aware that the police were looking for him and it was only when he returned to Belize that he found out and came to headquarters. Castellanos appeared in Magistrate’s Court and was officially charged with four counts of theft. He was offered bail in the amount of ten thousand dollars plus one surety of the same amount which he met.
