Police Commissioner Condemns Violence during Armed Robbery

Chester Williams

There was an armed robbery at Sam’s Club in San Ignacio Town over the weekend, but the robber did not just relieve the cashier of the day’s sales and leave. He used the weapon to hit the woman in her face after pointing it at her during the incident. It is a crime that Police Commissioner Chester Williams today condemned.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police, B.P.D.

“Having looked at the videos circulating, it is a cruel and heinous act perpetrated by those who were involved. I was even more disturbed by the fact that the gunman— one of the gunman— had a gun pointed at one of the persons in the store, and despite that, still hit the person in the face. That is really terrible. And so, yes, the police in San Ignacio are following that particular incident. We currently have a number of persons detained, who we believed are involved.  The investigators are working to help put the pieces together, hopefully by the end of the day, today. We should be making significant progress towards making an arrest.”
