Coast Guard Officer Stabbed by a Pair of Knife-wielding Attackers

Kyle Humes

Coast Guard Officer Kyle Humes was stabbed in front of his residence over the weekend, when a pair of men accosted him as he got out of his vehicle.  He was injured on various parts of the body, including the face and hands. There have been no arrests in the case thus far and police are yet to record a statement from Humes who remains hospitalized at the K.H.M.H.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Director, B.P.D.

“He reported to the police that he had just arrived home on Hart Street and upon exiting his vehicle he was attacked by two men that were armed with a knife each, who inflicted several stab wounds to him, to his hand, his face and his body.  He was transported to the K.H.M.H. where he is listed in a stable condition.”

“The nature of his injuries suggests that he may have been the intended target and it suggests that it’s very personal. Has there been any indication thus far as to what may have precipitated this particular attack?”

Fitzroy Yearwood

“From what the investigators put in this report, they are yet to do a detailed interview because when Mr. Humes arrived at the hospital, the importance was for him to receive treatment for those injuries and I know that they were to follow up with him in obtaining a statement.  Hopefully when we get that statement, like you rightfully said, this attack was direct and personal so we would get a better understanding of what may have caused these assailants to attack him in such a brutal way.”
