What About the Health Directors?

While we were with the Minister of Public Service, News Five also asked him for an update on the three director posts that were created to usurp the duties of former Director of Health Services, Doctor Marvin Manzanero. As you may recall, back in November, vacancies came out for a Director of Hospital Services and Allied Health, a Director of International Health Cooperation, and a Deputy Director of Public Health and Wellness. It is now two months later, but there’s still no one in those posts. In short, Minister Henry Charles Usher says that it’s a process.

 “When it comes to the filling of these posts, I think that yes we have to get them filled. There is a process to fill these posts. They have been advertised, there will be applications coming in, there will be an interview process as is required by the regulations and the person that scores the highest is the person that’s going to be hired for the job in these particular director posts. We need to set up the interview process very soon once we get all the applications in place. And then once the decision is made as to who will be the persons getting those positions, it will be made public.”
