COVID Cases Among “Highest Waves We Have Seen”
According to Total Business Solution Limited’s website, Belize has now reached a record high of COVID-19 cases since the disease was first detected in the country in March of 2020. Data coming from T.B.S.L.’s website shows that there are now six thousand and eighty-eight active recorded cases in the country. Up to last week Friday, the number of new cases was still in the three-figure range, but since this week began, all the reports from the Ministry of Health and Wellness show new infections of over a thousand cases each day. The total number of COVID cases last Friday stood at just over four thousand two hundred cases, and T.B.S.L. is reporting that Belize recorded the highest total on Tuesday, after our December sixteenth record of four thousand eight hundred and thirty-two cases. A quick check with Deputy Manager of the Ministry of Health’s Central Region, Doctor Melissa Diaz-Musa this evening indicated that Belize has entered one of the highest waves that we have seen.
