Man’s Leg Severed in Third Fatality
The third traffic fatality occurred in San Juan Village, Stann Creek, and there are contradictory reports as to how the victim lost his leg in the incident and subsequently died. While, one report is that he was knocked off his motorcycle by a bus, another report is that he lost control of the motorbike and that the occupants of the bus stopped to render aid. A.S.P Fitzroy Yearwood summarized for us what they have.

“The information is that when Police arrived on the scene, they saw him with his right leg completely amputated. They also saw a motorbike in that area. They are saying that the initial report is that he was driving his motorbike under the influence of alcohol when he collided into the San Juan plantation sign – a post – and they are saying that that is where he received his injuries, noh. They are saying the bus on that scene slowed down because they saw him on the side of the highway when they arrived on that scene. So the Police are saying that the injuries were not caused by the bus.”
