Super Furia Named “Band of the Year”
The Super Furia band has been in existence for decades. It is well known for its energetic and captivating live performances, both among party goers and in family settings. However, the pandemic caused the band to reassess its approach to delivering entertainment. In 2021, Super Furia not only headlined some of the major virtual events in Belize, but they also launched their own Sunday evening live event on Facebook. So, it was only fitting when Ash Belize and the Real Talk Show awarded the band with the title of “Band of the Year,” during the 501 Music Awards 2021. News Five spoke to Roxanna Anderson, lead singer, over the phone.

“My father, Francisco Alcoser, is the founder and owner of the band. He is like, you know what, even us, we were depriving from not doing our music, because music, for us, is life. It’s love. That is why we kept doing the virtual Sundays for our fans and for us to keep having a little peace of mind, because we need to get our energy out there. And, it is so amazing how the response we got from the audience, you know. They log on every Sunday, they tune in, and they let us know, countrywide and worldwide, we have fans, that they enjoy the show, and etc. So, to get such an award, it was a really, really overwhelming experience for us. We would like to thanks to all our fans. Continue to expect our energy coming every Sunday. Tune in at five o’clock on our Facebook page and of course we love you guys, and thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. We really appreciate you guys, because without you guys we would not be the musicians we are.”
