Another Shooting in Dangriga; Victim in Stable Condition

Two hours later, there was another shooting also in the Back-a-Town area of Dangriga. The victim, fifty-two-year-old Bartholomew Ramirez, received multiple shots to the body. According to the investigation, Ramirez was standing with another man on Banak Street when a gunman rode up on bicycle and opened fire in their direction.  Commissioner of Police Chester Williams says that the incident is not related to the murder of Joshua Flores.

“Another person received gunshot injuries to the different limbs of his body. Thankfully the person did not die and is currently admitted in the hospital in a stable condition. And so the police is also looking at that.”

Duane Moody

“Just to go back to the two shootings. Those occurred in an area that has been for a while dubbed as a hotspot, as gang territory. Were these two incidents related?”

Chester Williams

“At this time we are trying to see if there is any connection with the two. We have not been able to confirm. And yes, like you rightly said, the Back-a-Town area has been an area of concern for us and I have given instructions over and over to the commander to ensure that we have a presence in the Back-a-Town area.”
