Prices for Regular Gas and Kerosene Going Up
Well, the holiday spirit is certainly winding down fast, and the price change of two fuel products is not going to help consumers during the “maga season.” The Ministry of Finance announced that as of Friday January seventh, regular gasoline will increase by twenty-nine cents, from eleven dollars and forty cents to eleven dollars and sixty-nine cents per gallon. Kerosene will increase by fifty-eight cents, from seven dollars and sixty-two cents to eight dollars and twenty cents per gallon. The prices for premium gasoline and diesel will remain unchanged. According to the Ministry, these price hikes reflect the current demand and supply conditions of crude oil in the international petroleum market as well as the fluctuations in the acquisition price of refined fuel products in the countries from which Belize obtains its supplies.
