20 Staff Out at K.H.M.H. with COVID-19
The staff at K.H.M.H. is fighting its own wave of infections. Currently, some twenty staff members at the hospital are out with COVID-19. That number could rapidly increase, which would potentially leave the hospital’s operation in limbo. C.E.O. Cansino told us more.

“That is one of the greatest concern we have. We had forty persons up to yesterday that were tested. I think there was a misunderstanding that they were positive. They are not all positive. We have a little over twenty that were positive yesterday. So, we have been making adjustments as needed, in some cases doing twelve hours shifts for a short period until they recover and come back to work. Again, none of them are seriously ill so we are hoping and praying for the best. We are enforcing very strictly the protocols within the hospital setting, discouraging people from eating together, because that is when the masks come off, and if they do that they are properly social distanced and that they take shifts to eat, that no one is letting down their guard. We are doing little patrols in the different department to make sure everyone is adhering to the protocols.”
