And while the highest number of daily positive cases is being reported in the Belize District, a large percentage of these cases are being identified at the Phillip Goldson International Airport. Dr. Melissa Diaz Musa is recommending that Belizeans who travel back home, and test negative at the airport, isolate for a period of three days before getting tested.

Dr. Melissa Diaz-Musa, Deputy Regional Health Manager, Central Health Region

“Generally we are definitely seeing more Belizeans testing positive in Belize City. At the airport, at PGIA over the last two days we are seeing about fifty-fifty. If you have travelled to the United States, or to any foreign country and you have come home today, and you tested negative when you arrived at home, please also have a plan to take on the responsibility to isolate for another three days, and re test prior to going into your work place, especially if it is a big work place, and you are not working for yourself. It is really important.
