Who Will Succeed Broaster as Deputy ComPol?

Chester Williams

Who will succeed Edward Broaster as Deputy Commissioner of Police? The post remains vacant at this time as Broaster has retired from active duty. The Security Services Commission and the Ministry of Home Affairs are now undergoing the application process to determine who is best fit for the position. Many felt that ACP Marco Vidal was in the running, but with his removal as Operations Commander and being replaced by ACP Alford Grinage, who will assume the post? Today, ComPol Chester Williams shared comments on the process.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

“We currently have Mister Grinage who has taken up the post as Commander of Operations that Vidal once had. Mister Grinage is well versatile, he is well energised and is a person that’s willing to learn and he has that drive as well. We do anticipate that moving forward, Mister Grinage is going to continue to do a good job and pick up from where Mister Vidal left off.”

“So that’s the selection? You are announcing the selection.”

Chester Williams

“Yes. Remember now, Mister Vidal was ACP Operations and yes, Mister Grinage has now full that vacancy.”

Reporter

“But I am talking about deputy commissioner position, which is a rank above that.”

Chester Williams

“Well Mister Vidal was not deputy commissioner; that was Mister Broaster’s position. Now that position is still open. We are still looking at different candidates who we believe may be able to fill that vacancy.”
