Cabinet Moves Ahead with Digitization, Medigen Vaccine, and COVID Regulation Adjustments

In news from this week’s Cabinet meeting, the Prime Ministers and his advisors have endorsed the National Digital Agenda 2022 to 2025 aimed at simplifying government procedures, service delivery, and economic recovery through digitization. It will be managed through the Ministry of Youth, Sports & E-Governance. The Belize Building Act will be developed to regulate construction and adjust the schedule of fees paid to the Central Building Authority. In health news, there are more than three hundred and seventy thousand COVID vaccines on hand. As of eight November, forty-eight percent of the population had received at least one dose of the vaccine and forty-three percent have been fully vaccinated. Additionally, Cabinet approved the Taiwanese COVID-19 vaccine, Medigen, as an entry requirement for Taiwanese entering Belize. As reported earlier this week, Cabinet approved recommendations from the Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations to make certain adjustments to the current COVID-19 public health measures to take effect twenty second November 2021. These govern curfew and vaccination checks at restaurants.
