Opposition Leader Says Belize “Failing” in Fight Against COVID
And while the Ministry of Health and Wellness is announcing new curfew times, Leader of the Opposition Patrick Faber says the Briceño Administration is failing at fighting the COVID19 pandemic. He called for a plan inclusive of the Opposition. Here is what he told reporters in San Pedro today.
Patrick Faber, Leader of Opposition
“In the midst of all we are doing here, while we support this, we level the criticism loud and clear again, yesterday ten deaths on record, that the government needs to do more to fight COVID. I hear the success of vaccination, and of course we support the vaccination campaign. But, you know that enough is not being done via our hospitals, this business about profiteering off the test, and of course not putting the right medication. We hear about people dying because they cannot afford the expensive medications that can save lives. So, we absolutely say that government needs to do more, and to go back to your original point, it needs to be inclusive of everybody, including the Opposition, in this fight against COVID-19 that we are failing.”
