Belize Wins Against Barbados in CONCACAF U17 Women’s Tournament

There’s good news coming out of Florida today for the under-seventeen female national team who went on to beat the national team from Barbados two to one in the CONCACAF U-Seventeen Women’s Tournament. Earlier this week, the team lost to Curacao; they regrouped and today, with renewed motivation, the team won. Team captain Khalydia Velasquez, who scored both goals for Belize, as well as goalkeeper Jaleeny Belisle spoke about the win.

“Coming into the second game, we focused on going out there to win. I told the girls and we discussed as a team that we had to forget what happened in the first game and we had to go out there and prove to the country that we had talent and that we’ve been working hard and that we can move forward with the team. We wanted Belize to see that that loss didn’t determine our future.”
