Can G.O.B. Afford 2 New Directors?

Public officers remain on a ten percent salary cut and increment freeze, which was implemented earlier this year.  With current financial constraints, can the Briceño administration afford two new directors?  Here’s how Minister Henry Charles Usher responded.

“In terms of the efficiencies that you want to create, because remember we are still in the middle of a pandemic, we are still in the middle of a health crisis and we have to have all hands on deck. So the question you are asking is if we can afford it? Well, my answer to that is we can’t not afford it. We have to get it done because we have to make sure that the health of this country is the priority right now.”


Cabinet also approved recommendation by the Minister of Health and Wellness to increase the size of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Board to allow for a representative of the K.H.M.H. Workers Union to join the Board of Governors.
