KHMH May Need to Transfer COVID Patients
And one of those pressing needs at the KHMH is human resources. As the number of hospitalization continues to rise, there is a need for more doctors and nurses. Without that added help, KHMH is unable to expand the COVID Unit. So, the short term solution is to transfer COVID patients to regional hospitals. CEO Cansino explained.
Chandra Cansino, CEO, KHMH
“Right now one of the greatest challenge we are facing is the fact that COVID Unit has been filled to capacity for quite a few days now. We actually had to look at transferring patients who are stable and on their way to recovery, transfer them to the regional hospitals so that we can make space for more patients coming into the Karl Heusner. We are certainly not seeing a decrease in number as we have hoped in regards to the COVID Unit.”
