18 migrants and two Belizean drivers intercepted in anti-smuggling operation
Two men from Belmopan have been charged for smuggling illegal immigrants and their 18 passengers detained. Police say on Tuesday morning they were on operations on Paslow Falls Road in the Cayo District when a white Chevy Equinox driven by Reynaldo Alberto Vellos was stopped and eight persons in Belize illegally were found inside. A second vehicle, a black Ford Escape driven by Hector Alias Sanchez held ten more immigrants. Both vehicles were impounded at the station, and all persons were detained pending charges for Immigration offenses.
