Woman Scammed out of $2,500 for Fake ID
A Guatemalan woman who was trying to speed up the process of getting her permanent residency is out two-thousand five hundred dollars and the man accused of scamming her out of the money has been detained. Azucena Caal Raymundo of Camalote Village reported to police that in September she went to the Immigration Department where she met Kean Cardinez, who claimed that he could get her a permanent residency ID faster, and for a fee. She paid him one thousand dollars on October first and then the balance ten days later. He gave her what appeared to be a legitimate card but she soon discovered it was fraudulent. Cardinez, a security guard from Teakettle, has been detained by police.
