Bilateral Meetings Held with Honduran Secretary of Foreign Affairs
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eamon Courtenay met today with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Honduras, Lisandro Rosales Banegas during his official visit to Belize. They held a bilateral meeting aimed at promoting and strengthening cooperation in areas of agriculture and food security, the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, tourism, migration, and other issues. The Minister also handed over to Secretary Rosales the title for a parcel of land for the construction of the permanent location of the Embassy of Honduras in Belize. This land is located on Embassy Square in Belmopan, near the Embassy of Mexico and British High Commission. Belize and the Republic of Honduras established diplomatic relations on 21 September 1982.
