A FIFA Grassroots Football Course at the F.F.B.
A FIFA Grassroots Football Course got underway at the F.F.B. headquarters in Belmopan today. A FIFA trainer is conducting the course with football coaches and instructors from across the country with a purpose to strengthen the foundation of the sport. Twenty-six participants – four females and twenty-four males participated.
Vin Blaine, FIFA Instructor
“It’s a continuation of a FIFA project where we engage the coach educators in the different region and then we follow up with a guided, almost like a supervised approach to observe the coach educators delivering a course. This course happens to be a grassroots course.”
Philip Marin, Technical Development Director, F.F.B.
“It is a course that focused on grassroots football, focused on girls and boys for us to encourage them to fall in love with the game and for them to have fun. Grassroots is the foundation of football and development. And if grassroots football is not encouraged, football will suffer at all levels. So the president and his executive are always singing that we at the federation have to focus on the youth and kids playing football from early so we can strengthen the base.”
