Grace Kennedy Makes Donation to K.H.M.H. Staff

Over at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, its staff members were the recipients of a donation courtesy of Grace Kennedy Belize Limited. During a brief ceremony held inside the hospital lobby, frontline healthcare workers were handed bags filled with goodies as a show of appreciation by the corporate citizen that has been operating in Belize for almost four decades. While each bag is valued at roughly one hundred dollars, given the economic times, it was welcomed.

“We are very much committed to Belize, to the country and people of Belize. And obviously it is our responsibility to make sure we give back to the community where everything comes from. As Melonie mentioned, we were toying with ideas as to what we can do that can have a long lasting impact on our community. Unfortunately, the realities we are living right now force us to head in this direction. We are obviously grateful that we get the opportunity to contribute to you all – you people in the frontline, I guess a lotta times whatever you do go unnoticed and some people, because we are caught up in our own lives and realities, we don’t take time to try to understand what all you healthcare providers go through on a daily basis. So we have to recognise the good work that you are doing. And as Melonie mentioned, it is a small token, but one that is coming from our hearts because we believe in what you do and we want you to remain providing that support to the Belizean community.”
