One Suspect is Detained in Murder of Geoffrey Crawford
Police have detained one person in connection with the murder of sixty-nine-year-old Geoffrey Crawford, who was abducted from his residence near Crooked Tree Village on Wednesday morning. The body of the retired porter was found inside a shallow grave in the vicinity of Biscayne, one day after he was taken from his home after assisting two men with a jump. The shallow grave, according to Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, was found approximately fifty feet from where his stolen Nissan Pathfinder was recovered on a feeder road.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“Police were called, based on information received, that Mr. Crawford may have been abducted from his home and his vehicle was also taken. Based on that information, police were busy searching along the highways, looking for the vehicle, as well as Mr. Crawford and yesterday, police found Mr. Crawford’s vehicle in a feeder road somewhere in the Biscayne area. Near the vehicle, the police observed some soil that seemed to have been disturbed and upon digging that disturbed soil, they came across the lifeless body of Mr. Crawford. The body exhibited signs of violence. It has since been retrieved and taken to the morgue for a post mortem examination to be conducted. Police currently have one suspect in custody and are looking for another. The investigation process is still ongoing but we have some very good leads that we’re working on.”
