BRN Area Rep Marconi Leal Remains Hospitalized

Belize Rural North Area Representative Marconi Leal Sr. remains hospitalized at Belize Healthcare Partners Limited where he is receiving medical attention for COVID-19.  On Tuesday afternoon, Leal, who is unvaccinated, was admitted to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and placed on a ventilator when his oxygen level had decreased considerably.  He was later transferred to BHPL where he remains under observation.  This morning, his parliamentary colleague, Minister of Health and Wellness Michel Chebat weighed in briefly on Leal’s progress and also used the opportunity to urge all Belizeans to get vaccinated.

“Our friend is unfortunately hospitalized he is in a critical condition and we pray that he will have a full and speedy recovery as we do for all of our people who are currently hospitalized and battling this COVID virus.  Again, it is sad when we lose any of our citizens and again, I just want to say that we have the vaccines available to everybody.  There is no need for people to continue dying, there really is none.”
