Kenroy Daly Shot in Belize City
An attempt was made on the life of Belize City resident Kenroy Daly over the weekend. The twenty-two-year-old was at the corner of Seagull and Pelican Streets conversing with a woman when a gunman walked towards them from the direction of North Creek and fired several shots at him. One of the bullets made its mark on Daly, who was rushed to the K.H.M.H. where he remains in a stable condition. According to Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero, the shooting may have been due to a rivalry.
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“He was in the area along with a female when a male person came and fired shots towards him, causing that injury to him. Thereafter the male person fled from the area. We have information that it may be related to some rivalry he has with person in that area.”
Duane Moody
“So gang-related?”
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
“Rivalry with another group – not specifically gang. It could be gang or drugs.”
