Oscar Requeña, Minister of Rural Development

“Nine villages will be chosen in the first instance, based on a specific selection criteria tool to install mini-grids in these areas, which will aid in allowing these villages and communities to have access to electricity, water and telecommunications. This is at a total cost of four point five million Euros. This is significant, Madam Speaker. I also want to say that I am very happy to report to the nation that work is well underway in the completion of the mini-grid for Medina Bank, Golden Stream, and Indian Creek. We are hoping that that system is going to be up and running and commissioned by October of this year.”
